About this coloring page
An elderflower branch drawn in the manner of a nineteenth-century herbarium plate: the full umbel of tiny flowers, a pair of compound leaves, and one floret enlarged alongside so you can see how a single flower is built. The dissection view is what separates a botanical plate from a decorative flower drawing, and it makes this a genuinely absorbing page. Keep the greens muted and the flowers near-white — restraint is what makes these look like the real thing.
Printing tips
Set your printer to “fit to page” and turn off headers and footers. Ordinary 80 gsm paper is fine for pencils; use 120 gsm or heavier if you colour with markers so the ink does not bleed through.
