About this coloring page
The tardigrade, or water bear, is under a millimetre long and survives things almost nothing else can: boiling, freezing, and even the vacuum of space. Here one sits inside a magnified water droplet on a frond of moss, eight stubby clawed legs and all. It is a lovely bridge between colouring and a first conversation about microscopes. The droplet outline invites a pale blue wash, with the moss in strong greens underneath.
Printing tips
Set your printer to “fit to page” and turn off headers and footers. Ordinary 80 gsm paper is fine for pencils; use 120 gsm or heavier if you colour with markers so the ink does not bleed through.
