About this coloring page
A mermaid sits on a rock above the waterline, tail curling down into the water, a sailing ship small on the horizon. Andersen published the story in 1837 and it has belonged to everybody for a long time now — this is drawn from the tale itself, not from anyone else`s version of it. The scales on the tail are marked out individually, which makes it the obvious place to try a colour gradient. Ages seven and up.
Printing tips
Set your printer to “fit to page” and turn off headers and footers. Ordinary 80 gsm paper is fine for pencils; use 120 gsm or heavier if you colour with markers so the ink does not bleed through.
