About this coloring page
A pangolin curls up among fallen leaves, every overlapping scale drawn as its own small region. Those scales are made of keratin, the same material as our fingernails, and they are the reason the pangolin can roll into a ball that even a lion cannot open. The repeating scale pattern rewards patience and a fine pencil, which makes this one better suited to older children and adults. Building the scales from dark at the edge to light at the centre gives a convincing sense of depth.
Printing tips
Set your printer to “fit to page” and turn off headers and footers. Ordinary 80 gsm paper is fine for pencils; use 120 gsm or heavier if you colour with markers so the ink does not bleed through.
